A busy Yonkers roadway will be closed for several hours on Thursday as crews continue efforts to remove a tree from the area following Wednesday’s latest batch of winter weather in Westchester.

The Yonkers Police Department issued an alert warning motorists to avoid Midland Avenue between Central Park Avenue and Kimball Avenue due to a downed tree near the intersection of Wrexham Road.

Police said that crews are working to remove the obstruction, though it is expected to take several hours. No timetable has been released regarding the reopening of the roadway. Keep following Daily Voice for updates.
